This was a good read, I just do not like the way all the books in this genre seem to be wrapped up so fast. It would have been nice to have a few more pages. The characters were likeable, and the writer made you feel for their prespective positions. I would have liked to seen the couple a few weeks down the road after the relationship grew a little.Product details

More Than Friends (Audible Audio Edition) Erin Dutton Abby Craden Audible Studios Books Reviews
Since most of what I'll be talking about occurs in the first few chapters of the book, I don't think I'll be giving away any spoilers here, but be warned. ^_^
The break-up at the beginning of this story was painful to read, and that is a mark of excellent writing. The emotions between Kendall and Melanie felt so real and true that I cringed. Who hasn't felt like they do, trapped in a rut, questioning whether or not the person they're with is THE ONE. In their case, they aren't soul mates, and I felt for them on such a deep level, hence, painful to read.
The blossoming romance involving Evelyn also skirted the edge of painful, love and lust mixed with a need to not hurt a good friend. I thought the story did a wonderful job of testing the bounds of friendship and asking just how far someone would go for something they really want.
The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that I heard no one takes five-star reviews seriously, and I want everyone to take this story seriously. If romance that explores where friends end and lovers begin, this is the book for you.
In More Than Friends the talented Erin Dutton has given us a solid, realistic view of romance among friends and what happens when you fall for your best friend's ex. This is an intelligent, emotional, well-crafted and very entertaining novel. The kind of effort I've come to expect from the creative Dutton. I particularly enjoyed references to familiar neighborhoods in my adopted hometown on Nashville.
As entertaining as it is, this book would have significantly benefited from professional editing. It was, frankly, point-of-view hell. POV flips between paragraphs are hard enough to follow, but POV flips within paragraphs are just plain sloppy. The inconsistency was exacerbated by over reliance on pronouns. Unlike MF romances where pronouns can reliably indicate POV, FF romances need more proper nouns or the reader will spend a lot of time back-tracking to figure out which "she" is doing what. POV inconsistency is hugely distracting and simple enough to fix - and it should have been fixed before this book hit the retail market.
For ratings, I give the author a 4.5 and the editor a 2.
Kendall and Melanie break up. Melanie calls it quits no big issues were the cause just hooking up too young, inexperience at keeping love alive and becoming different people over time - that and the bickering and arguments.
Their BFF Evelyn, after thinking they were living their happily ever after, is at a loss. Evelyn wants to keep both Kendall and Melanie as friends after the separation while they move forward, separately. What is Evelyn to do when she finds herself attracted to Melanie? And Melanie agrees she feels the same. First Evelyn should kiss Kendall goodbye because if I were Kendall I would be freaked out. Luckily I am not Evelyn or Kendall - lol! Only thing missing for me would be another 20 - 40 pages until the end of the conflict to fully explore how Melanie and Evelyn are romancing each other.

I'm not going to write a lengthy review... I just reread this book. It was really good. I loved the story, and in a genre where the books all follow the same pattern, usually have similar stories, this one was different. I wish I knew another book like it. If anyone does, please share. I mean it has cliches... But falling for you bff ex is something I haven't read yet. And I do have to point out that there was one sceen where the girl had on sweats, but then it was boxers... But I didn't really see errors like one often does in lesfic. It was worth a reread for me... And that doesn't happen often unless its audio.
Not much of a reader , but ever now and then a book catches my eyes and this is one of them. Plays true to how lesbians really act.
Love it .Great read well written. Thanks for the journey into the leads lives almost feel that you know them.Looking forward for more books form this author
Three people are friends for years then suddenly one of them realizes the same old status is not enough. Good characters better story. This type of story line happens in all walks of life they don't all end this well.
